FAQ
- Q: Does this pen have a hold function?
- A: Yes. This product has a hold function. Press the hold key once to lock the current reading on the screen; press it again to unlock.
- Q: How often does the pH function need calibration?
- A: Unlike most sintered-core technologies on the market, the pH electrode of this product uses nano salt bridge technology. After calibration, recalibration is generally only needed every 1 to 2 months under normal conditions.
- Q: Does pH measurement require calibration?
- A: Because pH measurement is based on electrochemical principles, after a period of use, the depletion of the internal reference solution inside the electrode can cause pH values to drift. Therefore, regular calibration is necessary.
- Q: What is the function of temperature measurement?
- A: pH readings in actual environments are significantly affected by temperature fluctuations. To compensate for the effect of temperature changes on the readings, incorporating temperature detection is a necessary condition to ensure accurate pH measurement.
- Q: Are there any important precautions for use?
- A: Yes. The test pen cannot measure highly corrosive strong acid or strong alkali solutions, nor high-temperature water above 70 °C, as both conditions will cause irreversible damage to the pH electrode. Additionally, after testing high-salinity water samples, promptly clean the probe with purified water to prevent clogging and damage to the nano salt bridge on the pH electrode.
Related Terms
- pH: Acidity/alkalinity, indicating the strength of acidity or alkalinity of an aqueous solution, with a range of 0 to 14 and a unit of pH.
- Nano salt bridge: A salt bridge made of nanoscale porous material. Its pores block the ingress of external contaminants while allowing the internal reference solution to seep out and form a circuit with the solution being tested, effectively extending the service life of the pH electrode.
